Efficiency and innovation for DIMO’s new headquarters

In 2012 GSE Italia realized for DIMO, a leading group in the distribution of household appliances and consumer electronics, their new headquarters in Vercelli. The project consists of 4,500 sqm of offices spaces in addition to a 21,000 sqm distribution centre, built to optimize the efficiency and innovation of the logistics division’s processes and offer a high level of service to the ever-developing sales network.

There were two main objectives at the centre of the project: the ergonomics of the spaces and the environmental sustainability of the building. The first objective was achieved through a layout profiled on the functional and individual needs of employees, in an environment characterized by double glazed walls to ensure acoustic comfort and large windows overlooking a lush internal patio of 300 sqm to ensure natural lighting. The second through the significant degree of insulation of the building envelope, an air conditioning system with heat pump and fan coils integrated with false ceiling, and the installation of a photovoltaic system in self-consumption of 200 kWp covering 90% of electricity needs.
