A logistics hub in the manufacturing heart of the country

 

The logistics hub of Calderara di Reno, built for Scannell Properties, consists of 3 separate buildings – called WHA, WHB and WHC – and is located on the border with Bologna airport, just 8 km from the city.

 

The entire hub has been designed to meet the needs of high-flow processes, for the storage and logistics of air freight transport. Common features of the 3 buildings are the high number of loading bays in proportion to the space (1/850 sqm), private yards, parking areas and modular and flexible spaces from 5,000 to 10,000 sqm.

 

The design is totally eco-friendly: the attention to sustainability is expressed through the use of LEDs for the optimization of energy consumption, the installation of a photovoltaic system that allows the generation of 160,000 KWh of green electricity every year and the presence of recharging stations for electric vehicles.

 

In particular:

 

  • WHC has a surface of 10,125 sqm and is intended for a leading operator in the e-commerce sector. The building can accommodate up to 8 tipper trucks, the car park accommodates up to 70 vehicles and more than 40 under the reinforced concrete roof. Most of the vehicles are electric and 48 columns are available for recharging them.

 

  • WHB is a “multi-tenant” warehouse, specifically designed to accommodate two tenants, with a surface of ​​27,360 sqm including 1,760 sqm of office spaces and 59 loading bays.

 

The entire logistics hub is BREEAM Very Good certified.
